About Zoe Reyes
I am a bicultural and bilingual (English and Spanish speaking) psychotherapist. I was born and raised in New York City. My parents are hard-working, warm-hearted and lively-spirited immigrants from Puerto Rico. This gives me an intimate understanding of how acculturation and generational gaps impact our identity and our relationships. I use a psychodynamic approach and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy strategies to help clients gain greater insight into themselves and their circumstances to facilitate change. I also use spiritually informed therapy with those who choose to incorporate that into their journey. Clients have shared that they appreciate my ability to make them laugh in hard times and find hope, joy and light in darkness. I consider these to be the most important compliments I have received.
My style is directive. I would describe myself as a cross between a cheerleader and a drill sergeant. I also empower my clients to take action to move towards their goals, using honesty and humor. I love food, dancing to 90s salsa, hip hop and R&B and traveling so I make reference to those things often.
